paintin 22. Popham Beach Rocks © Studio-Middle
Last weekend I got preoccupied by errands and outings, and didn’t get to paint. But the weekend before I made it out to Popham Beach for the first time in 2009. Though it was great to be back on the beach and hear the waves, I was really shocked by the state of the coastline there – erosion is really taking it’s toll on the beautiful beach. In fact, there’s not much left of the beach!
I still took a long walk and came across this pile of rocks, which actually blocked the beach, and that’s as far as we got. I snapped a few photos from this spot, and was glad to get the chance to work on this painting yesterday.
Updated: this has become one of my most viewed paintings, so I thought I’d make it available:

This painting is available as a print -- you can pick canvas/paper and type of matte finish. You can also get it custom framed.
